Description

Beside the hearth, in rocking chair’s repose,
While ’spite the storm a candle bravely glows.
With needle, deft, through fabric’s gentle fold,
A quilt is born, its narrative untold.
Introducing Annie’s first quilt of 2024. This cozy queen-size quilt (86 x 100 inches) is a warm embrace for chilly winter nights on the farm. Picture snuggling up with loved ones under its cover, the wood stove crackling nearby. This handmade piece has been stitched with love since 2019 and features a simple, timeless design in shades of red, blue, green, gold, and taupe. The original triangles were discovered in a Corvallis, Oregon thrift shop by my mother, Julie Robertson. I machine pieced the top and borders, utilizing complimentary calicos from my personal collection to fill in gaps here and there. The blue border is a fabric that has found its way into many of my quilts over the years.
It has been professionally long-arm quilted by Barb Schoonover in Albany, Oregon with a high-quality wool batting. I love wool because it is light-weight, but promises extra warmth; I always choose wool for my personal quilts. The back of the quilt is green calico, also courtesy of Julie Robertson. The quilt is finished with a narrow binding, which I completed by hand during an ice storm for extra authenticity.
This quilt is not just decor, and certainly not just a blanket; it’s a farmhouse story, a comforting embrace after a long day’s work. It’s a symbol of how one pieces together a beautiful life out of many little moments of joy. It’s a testament to craftsmanship and farm life. Every stitch has been a labor of love, and I am proud of this quilt. Bring warmth and charm to your winter haven.
Shipping is included in the price and will include adequate insurance to cover loss. In the unlikely event that the quilt is lost or damaged in transit, I will fully refund you after a successful claim with the USPS. Due to the nature of a handmade item like this I will never be able to replace the quilt.
